Healthy & Safe Community

Maintaining Spring Hill’s quality of life depends on reliable and trusted public safety and opportunities for residents of all ages to maintain health and well-being.

Being safe from harm is a baseline for health in a community. Overall, property crime has slightly increased with an influx in population, but violent crime in Spring Hill is significantly lower than state and national averages. Spring Hill partners with Johnson County Fire District #1 for fire and emergency management services.

Parks, recreation, and health services are critical to achieving and maintaining health. Opportunities to improve a healthy community are found through available physical activities, healthcare services, mental health support, social networks, education, and access to healthy food choices. Through surveys and conversation, we will assess the needs of Spring Hill residents and give the community options for accessing these vital services, whether in Spring Hill or through regional partners.

Below is a DRAFT of our Spring Hill Snapshot:

Critical Questions

  • How can the city continue to work with community-based organizations, schools, businesses, and partners to support the community’s physical and mental health?
  • How do we provide City services, including public safety, that align with changing demographics, increases in population, and resident needs?
